Bundle Course

The CFSC/CRFSC course bundle (frequently referred to as the Combo Course, or Back-to-Back Course) is a comprehensive two day course that provides training on both Non-Restricted and Restricted Firearms – all in one weekend. This bundle offers more comprehensive training in firearms safety than the stand-alone courses at a reduced overall length while offering significant overall course cost savings.

This course is ideal if you plan on taking up target shooting and is a requirement for many law enforcement and security job applications. An introduction to firearm safety with a much broader selection of firearms, so your safety training is more well-rounded.

When possible, this course incorporates the Friday evening in order to make the Saturday portion of the course shorter, and more relaxed. Course cost is $380

  • the evolution of firearms, major parts, types and actions;
  • basic firearms safety practices;
  • ammunition;
  • operating firearm actions;
  • safe handling carrying, and range procedures;
  • firing techniques and procedures;
  • care of non-restricted and restricted firearms;
  • responsibilities of the firearms owner/user;
  • safe storage, display, transportation and handling of non-restricted and restricted firearms.

Current CFSC/CRFSC Bundle Offerings

CFSC

The CFSC course (frequently referred to as the PAL course) is a one day course that provides training on Non-Restricted Firearms. Non-Restricted Firearms are Rifles and Shotguns legal for hunting in Canada.

When possible, this course incorporates the Friday evening in order to make the Saturday portion of the course shorter, and more relaxed. Course cost is $210

The Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) was developed in partnership with the provinces, territories, and national organizations with an ongoing interest in firearms safety. This course was developed to meet the mandatory requirements of section 7 of the Firearms Act.  The legislation stipulates that individuals wishing to acquire non-restricted firearms must take the CFSC and pass the tests.

Topics covered in the CFSC include:

  • the evolution of firearms, major parts, types and actions;
  • basic firearms safety practices;
  • ammunition;
  • operating firearm actions (rifles, shotguns, and handguns);
  • safe handling, and carry procedures;
  • firing techniques and procedures;
  • care of rifles, shotguns, and handguns;
  • responsibilities of the firearms owner/user;
  • safe storage, display, transportation and handling of non-restricted firearms.

Current CFSC/CRFSC Bundle Offerings

The CRFSC course is frequently referred to as the RPAL course or the Restricted Firearms course. It is a one day course that provides training on Restricted Firearms. Restricted Firearms are a broad category of firearms that include most handguns as well as many rifles and shotguns. You must pass the CFSC course and exams before taking this course.

Course cost is $210

In accordance with the Firearms Act, a new firearms safety course focusing on restricted firearms (primarily handguns) was developed and implemented on February 1, 1999. The legislation stipulates that individuals wishing to acquire restricted and/or prohibited firearms must take the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC) and pass the tests.  Topics covered in the CRFSC include:

  • the evolution of firearms, major parts, types and actions;
  • basic firearms safety practices;
  • ammunition;
  • operating handgun and other firearm actions;
  • safe handling and carry procedures;
  • firing techniques and procedures for handguns and other firearms;
  • care of non-restricted and restricted firearms;
  • responsibilities of the firearms owner/user;
  • safe storage, display, transportation and handling of restricted firearms

CFSC Private PAL Courses

We are dedicated to making firearm safety courses more accessible in the Ottawa area and are willing to conduct private training courses for small groups of up to 12 students.
