It is strongly recommended that students read the Canadian Firearms Safety Course manual prior to attending the course, and to have a copy available during class, to get the most out of the experience. The course manual is also a terrific resource after taking the course to reinforce the material.

Hard copies of the Canadian Firearms Safety Course student handbook may also be purchased in class for $21. Hard copies are strongly recomended. A hard copy allows students to follow-along in class, highlight important information, take notes, and to have as a resource before and after class & exams.

Where can I buy a hard copy of the CFSC Manual?

Ottawa Firearm Safety keeps hard copies of the most recent version of the CFSC manual (CFSC student handbook) in stock for sale in class. These are only available during course hours. If you would like to pick up a manual before your class, please contact us to arrange pick-up. This manual also includes the CRFSC materials. The $21 price includes HST taxes. If coming before before your class, please bring exact change to minimize interruption.

How much does the manual cost?

The manual costs $21 and this price includes HST taxes and the price is government regulated. You get a professionally bound, double-sided book with high-resolution diagrams that are critical for identifying firearm actions during the practical exam. The cost of buying the manual in class is cheaper than the cost of printing a copy and the hard copy will last longer than a printed copy.

Do you make money by selling the hard copies of the manuals?

No. Ottawa Firearm Safety does not make any profit on the sale of student handbooks. These are only offered in class as a service and courtesy.

Why bother buying a hard copy of the CFSC manual?

In class resource: use your own hard copies to highlight “testable” information and take notes during the long training sessions. Marks of students with a hard copy of the manual in class are on average higher than students that do not have a hard copy.
