Terms of Enrollment
Please be advised that course fees are strictly non-refundable. The high fixed costs of facilitating CFSC/CRFSC training necessitate a firm commitment from students regarding their selected dates and punctuality. We remain committed to accommodating our students where possible; however, any inability to attend must be communicated with immediate notice. Such notice is vital to facilitate seat reallocation and ensures the continued viability of the course schedule.
Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy
Participants must provide at least two weeks’ written notice to be eligible for rescheduling to a subsequent course. This notice period is necessary to allow for the reallocation of the reserved seat. While an administrative charge may be assessed for such changes, the company reserves the right to waive or modify notice requirements under exceptional circumstances. Any leniency granted for notice periods of less than fourteen days shall be at the company’s absolute discretion.
Punctuality and Entry Requirements
Strict adherence to the designated course schedule is compulsory. Individuals arriving after the commencement of the session will be precluded from entrywithout exception. Please be advised that failure to arrive on time results in the automatic forfeiture of all registration fees; the company shall not be liable for refunds or re-enrollment for late attendees. Participants are responsible for managing their own transit and are encouraged to be present on-site 15 minutes before the official start time.
Late Cancellation and No-Show Policy
Registration for this course is non-refundable and non-transferable to future dates in the event of a late cancellation or ‘no-show.’ In the absence of the required notice period, the registrant’s seat shall be forfeited. As a courtesy, the company permits the transfer of registration to an alternative student for the same session date, provided that written notification of the substitution is received prior to the course commencement. Absent such a substitution, no credits or reimbursements will be issued.
This Service Agreement and Liability Waiver formally defines the contractual obligations between Ottawa Firearm Safety (the “Provider”) and the registering student (the “Student”).
COURSE ENROLLMENT & SERVICE AGREEMENT
Service Provider: Ottawa Firearm Safety
Course(s): Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) / Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC)
1. PAYMENT AND NON-REFUNDABILITY
All course fees and deposits paid to Ottawa Firearm Safety are strictly non-refundable. Due to the high operational costs, administrative overhead, and limited seating capacity mandated by federal and provincial regulations, all sales are final upon registration.
2. ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY REQUIREMENTS
- Mandatory Attendance: Students must attend 100% of the prescribed instructional hours as required by the Chief Firearms Officer (CFO) to be eligible for examination.
- Late Arrival Policy: Timely arrival is a material condition of this Agreement. Students arriving after the scheduled commencement will be denied entry to maintain the integrity of the instructional environment. Lateness results in the immediate forfeiture of the seat and all associated fees.
- Recommendation: To ensure compliance, students are directed to arrive at the training facility at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.
3. CANCELLATION AND RESCHEDULING
- Sufficient Notice (14+ Days): Requests to reschedule must be submitted in writing at least fourteen (14) calendar days prior to the course date. Rescheduling is subject to seat availability and a mandatory Administrative Fee.
- Short Notice (< 14 Days): Any requests made with less than fourteen (14) days’ notice are subject to the absolute discretion of Ottawa Firearm Safety. Such requests are generally only entertained if a replacement student can be secured to mitigate the loss of the seat.
- No-Shows: Failure to attend without prior written notice constitutes a material breach of contract, resulting in the total forfeiture of all fees without the possibility of a refund or reschedule.
4. SUBSTITUTION POLICY
In the event of an unavoidable conflict, a Student may designate a substitute to attend in their place. This substitution is only valid if written notification (including the substitute’s full legal name and contact information) is received and acknowledged by Ottawa Firearm Safety prior to the course start time.
5. PREREQUISITE AND COMPETENCY STANDARDS
- CFSC as a Prerequisite: Successful completion of the CFSC is a legal prerequisite for the CRFSC.
- Integrated (Combo) Courses: For students enrolled in a combined CFSC/CRFSC program, failure to attend, arriving late for, or failing the examinations of the CFSC portion shall result in the automatic forfeiture of the CRFSC portion of the course and all aggregate fees.
ACKNOWLEDGMENT: By completing the registration and payment process, the Student affirms they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms above.
